Objectif: Bâtir un nouveau bâtiment pour l’école de Morafeno

Objective: Build a new building for Morafeno’s school

Je lance un appel à dons pour poursuivre les actions faites depuis 2017 pour aider l'école de Morafeno pour l'année scolaire 2020-2021. 

Morafeno (se lit « Mourafèn » en malgache) est un village pauvre de la région du Vakinankaratra, dans les hautes terres de Madagascar. Il n'a pour survivre que le peu de récoltes de riz et de maïs que la population locale cultive. Compte tenu de la saisonnalité des récoltes, la population ne mange pas à sa faim.

L'éducation est, je pense le meilleur moyen d'ouvrir les générations futures à d'autres horizons et d'améliorer leur quotidien. Aujourd'hui cependant, l'école reste inaccessible à une grande partie de la population, qui ne dépend que de l’agriculture.

L'école créée par la communauté luthérienne locale a été érigée dans l'objectif d'être accessible aux plus démunis, de toute confession. Les frais de scolarité s'élèvent à environ 3.5€, mais elle ne peut fournir un environnement propice à l'éducation, ni même à assurer la présence des 3 enseignants locaux qui forment les classes de la CP au CM2.

Je pourrai écrire plusieurs pages sur les conditions de vie à Madagascar, la pauvreté et pourquoi ce village me touche particulièrement, et pour cela je vous invite à aller sur la page que j'ai créée helpmorafeno. De tout cela, je retiens qu'en donnant des cahiers, stylo, crayons 2 années de suite, le nombre d'enfants qui souhaite intégrer l'école depuis notre première aide a doublé pour atteindre plus d'une centaine.

D'ici fin Juillet 2019, je souhaite donc continuer mes actions pour :

- des habits pour les enfants de 4 à 14 ans

- des fonds pour financer la construction d'un bâtiment annexe pour les CP et CE1 

Pour cette année scolaire, nous avons estimé, avec l’aide des ouvriers du bâtiment sur place que le total des coûts de la construction s'élèverait à 2 500€, et fais appel à vous pour m'aider à atteindre cet objectif et à améliorer la vie de ces enfants.

I am calling on to you following my trips in Madagascar since 2017 to pursue the actions launched for the Morafeno primary school, for this the 2020-2021 scholar year. 

Morafeno is a small and poor village in Vakinankaratra, in Madagascar's highlands. The only economy that they know of is through selling the corn and rice that they are producing. As those are only available a limited time through the year, most of the population is not eating correctly.

Education is, I believe, the only way to bring a wider world to the kids of the village, and give them a chance to improve their lives in the future. However, a big portion of the population cannot afford to send their kids to school, as the population is dependent on their harvest and the price set by the scarce collectors/dealers.

The lutherian community created a school to cater for those who are most deprived, of all confessions. But with "fees" that are the equivalent of 3.5€, the school cannot give a good learning environment and even have troubles ensuring that the 3 teachers remain present.

I could write a lot regarding the situation in Madagascar, the poverty and why this village strikes a cord in me. For that, please go to the FB page I created helpmorafeno. I just retain that following my coming over the past years, carrying with me notebooks, pens and pencils, the number of families wanting to have their kids join has doubled to reach more than a hundred.

By the end of July 2020, I therefore want to continue my actions to provide:

Clothes for children aged between 4 and 14 

Funds to finance a new building for the school

I need your help to reach these objectives, in order to improve those kids lives. We have estimated, with the local contruction workers, the total fund needed is 2 500 €.

Each purchase will be traced with a justification, and you will be able to see and follow the execution of this plan through the facebook page.
